JUICY LISBOA

"Plants never tasted this good"

As we all know, Portuguese food is amazing! But if you are vegetarian it can be hard! Portugal has really good meat, sea food and fish. But if you go to a local restaurant, it is really hard to find a proper salad or any vegetarian / vegan dishes. Don’t get me wrong, I love meat and sea food, but I also try to reduce my consumption of it, as we all should. This is why I am happy to go to some vegetarian places where you can taste new recipes.

We have found an amazing place for this; JUICY Lisboa. Located in the heart of Lisbon and founded by Amaury, a French man; this restaurant opened only a few weeks ago. All ingredients are fresh, most of them organic and local. Everything is cooked the same day, the bread and the beer are homemade.

A conscious restaurant that use as less plastic as possible and biodegradable packaging.

“JUICY is a brand new type of conscious restaurant that brings together novel healthy food, delicious juices & cocktails and funky music vibes. Great-tasting, nutritious & sustainable, without missing out on the fun.”

My first impression: YEAI!
I entered and directly felt good! A chilled atmosphere, with plants, pastel orange on the walls, green mosaic tables… Amazing interior design, then, a warm welcome from the staff (a young, fun and dynamic team).

The menu: HARD TO CHOOSE!
I have tried the Yellow Submarine juice (highly recommended). Loved the ginger touch! To eat, I ordered the Acoustic Avocado (a home made wrap / flatbread) and some sweet potato fries. It was really good, the fresh mint inside makes it so fresh! The fries were soft and crunchy at the same time!  Just perfect.

The menu sides change everyday and are made with organic veggies from Freixo Do Meio.

They offer so many different drinks and dishes, here being vegetarian (or vegan) is not boring at all! You can even have a fresh coconut (directly from Thailand!) and a turmeric shot (the Indonesian healthy drink called JAMU – an anti oxidant).

I have to say, this place reminds me a bit of Bali <3

Party lovers! Be ready! Every Thursday they have a DJ! And seasonal craft beer made with LX brewery

AMELIA CAFE

Nicolau's girlfriend

Some of you, I am sure, already know Nicolau Lisboa Café (Founded in 2016).
Well… after its big success, they’ve decided to open Amelia Lisboa café in Campo de Ourique (I couldn’t be happier as I live next to it 😊)

Nicolau Café & Amelia Café is a family business, owned by Bernardo Mesquita and his wife Barbara Pinto. They both like to travel, and bring deco & recipe ideas from each city they' ve visited around the world.

If you go to Amelia, you will see, it is a mix between Miami, LisbonBali with an industrial touch. Pastel pink, pastel green mixed with concrete, a flower wallpaper wall with a pink neon sign, rattan furniture and an outside terrace full of plants… just beautiful!

Food Lovers, let’s talk about the menu!
They have wonderful pancakes (even vegan ones so you can choose to be healthy or not), big salad bowls (which is hard to find in Lisbon), homemade granola (so tasty), avocado on toast (our favourite), açaí bowls, burgers (again…also vegan ones), carob cakes (the healthy alternative of chocolate cake)…a good variety of dishes. It is the perfect place for brunch!

And for the drinks you can choose between natural juices, MUSA craft beers or 100% Portuguese coffee. Amelia gets most of its products locally and most of them are organic.

Its plus: They keep low prices to be affordable for everyone.                             My advice? Go early! Since day one this place is packed (and you will see why)

CASA PAU BRASIL LISBOA

A 100% Brazilian concept store  in Principe Real

You don’t see it at first sight, you are just attracted by some yellow flying birds that push your curiosity to come inside and go upstairs…and….WOW! It takes your breath away. It's impossible to imagine what is expecting you there; an immense space (where you can almost get lost) full of Brazilian design  Brazilian design (fashion, shoes, cosmetics, plants, furniture..) All well presented. It is a mix between a boutique and a museum.

THE LUMIARES HOTEL

In the heart of Lisbon - Bairro Alto

The Lumiares hotel is part of the group Bomporto (anti “global corporate hotel chain”). They like to create well located Boutique hotels, with style (we especially like the pink walls).
