Once again Masquespacio design blows our minds. The contrast between neutrals makes us dream of oriental journeys in the middle of the city of Valencia, where they present their lastest project for Living Bakkali.

The restaurant’s name expresses a place to live sensorial experiences for the experiences for taste, touch and sight. Inspired by the Middle East the designers wish to take you to the most profound part of the desert, connecting you with a marvellous environment for many unknown and full of mystery.

The project is initially presented through a layout of the different areas that recreate small nooks and crannies as if in the fantastic Orient with its lounge seating that invites the different dining groups to relax and connect while enjoying the creative dishes.

A central hall connects the entrance with the kitchen and guides you through the space, discovering each of the restaurant's surroundings, from the more intimate 2-person seating area and the benches for larger groups that sits at a higher level and provides you a wider view of the restaurant.

While the first part of the hall makes you feel as you were walking through a street of ancient houses, the second part takes you through a corridor between curtains that incorporate a private dining room and the bathrooms from the restaurant.

Speaking a little more in detail about the shapes and materials of Living Bakkali, in each moment the organic shapes contrast with each other, while creating an adobe effect on the walls, floors and ceilings, using 1 unique material for the entire design, executed completely by hand to represent the houses from the past. Above, a more neutral but slightly contrasting colour palette, which clearly reminds us of the desert.

Last but not least, the created lighting effects, aim to highlight the mysterious and beautiful Orient to be discovered.

Hereby, the design for Living Bakkali, is all a tribute to the unknown and marvellous world to be discovered in the East, with special attention for its historical architecture.
