Home sweet Bungalow
The Danish brand mixing secular Indian
techniques and contemporary design
—
You know how some brands just steal your heart as soon as you discover them? That’s exactly what happened when we saw Bungalow for the first time at Maison et Objet this year, so of course we had to share their beautiful pieces with our readers. We know you’ll love it too!
Bungalow is a Copenhagen-based brand, founded in 2004 by Minna Hildebrandt, a home decor lover and artisanship enthusiast. After 14 years living and travelling between India and South Asia, she decided to go back home and start her own company, using all the knowledge and inspiration she’s acquired over those years of adventure.
Bungalow products are all ethically handmade by Indian artisans. Its textiles are block-printed by skilled craftsmen, who stamp patterns of paisleys and florals onto the fabric using hand-carved wood blocks. Initiatives like this help keeping such traditions alive, as it supports techniques like block-printing, passed down from generation to generation.
We love the color palettes Bungalow uses, the artisanal story there is behind every single product and, of course, their elegant finishings and high-quality materials.
Already in love with Bungalow? So don’t waste time! Their 2019 collection is now available in many stores around the world!
