Claudia Martinez Garay at the Grimm Gallery
One of our favorite latest exhibitions
in the heart of Amsterdam

Just because we’re under a lockdown it doesn’t mean we can’t appreciate good exhibitions, right? We want to share with you guys the interesting exhibition "A las revoluciones, como a los árboles, se reconoce por sus frutos” - “Revolutions, like trees, are recognized by their fruits”, by the incredibly talented Claudia Martínez Garay and which was showcased at Amsterdam-based Grimm Gallery until February this year.
Claudia Martinez’ work deals with the global history of Peru as well as the socio-political memory of the country. She combines graphic iconography and abstraction in her paintings and ceramic sculptures to reflect on the idea of memory, life and after-life, invoking a strong identification with native American cultures of South America.
We adore the link to the history and the story behind every pieces. But above all, we adore the contrast of the colors. The strong blue, pink and yellow colors used at the exposition of Martinez Garay at the Grim Gallery in Amsterdam, are wonderful!
We’d certainly recommend you to pay an online visit to the Grim Gallery and to keep an eye on Claudia Martinez Garay’s work.
