Antwerp, Belgium has a new destination for pastry and design lovers: Et Claire viennoiserie recently opened their second location under the creative vision of Amsterdam-based studio Heinzel De Vries.
Following the brand’s debut in Amsterdam in 2022, the Antwerp venue introduces the same luxurious all-day concept of refined viennoiserie, champagne, fine wines and light aperitifs to the heart of the city.
Layered Luxury Inspired by Pâtisserie Craft
At Et Claire Antwerp, the design is a playful homage to pastry itself. A beautiful façade with butter-yellow awnings sets the tone, while the warm, yellow interiors unfold inside as a subtle nod to French butter, the essential ingredient behind every viennoiserie. At its centre, an éclair-shaped counter anchors the space.
Every detail celebrates indulgence: from the brass bar to the custom panelling and even the carefully considered furniture in the restrooms. Reminiscent of the delicate folds of pastry, these elements create an atmosphere that feels both indulgent and intimate.
Towards the back, an open kitchen keeps the craft of pâtisserie on display. Here, guests can savour signature viennoiserie classics from air-light croissants, artisanal bakes and seasonal puff-pastry creations paired with curated champagnes and exceptional wines for a truly refined culinary experience.
“Designing Et Claire Antwerp was an invitation to translate the poetry of pastry into spatial experience,” explain studio founders Tinka Heinzel and Barbara de Vries. “Every layer and curve was conceived to tempt the senses.”
With projects ranging from the Efteling Grand Hotel to the Dutch Museum Association headquarters, Heinzel De Vries continue to affirm their reputation for storytelling through design — bringing architecture, hospitality and gastronomy together in Antwerp’s newest sweet spot.
