Minimal Fantasy
The magical Pink House
that stole our hearts.
—
Hi design junkies!
We have looked forward to present to you the MINIMAL FANTASY located in the heart of Madrid - only two streets away from the door of the sun where a place to dream is hidden, a tunnel of time and color that immerses you in a surreal world.
Patricia Bustos Studio has designed the renovation of this 55m house intending to take us out of the daily routines of our lives, and instead entering a surreal and extravagant world. And we are both crazy in love with the concept and the design!
The house is destined for holiday rental and is designed with; a practical distribution (two dormitories, two baths, kitchen, and hungry hall). The idea was to create an aesthetic madness look to fit under their manifesto of the three S's (Surprise, singularity, and sense).
Satin curtains, iridescent sheets, and recycled, eco-friendly furniture make this apartment the coolest place to stay when visiting Madrid - and for this reason, we have already added it to our list of the coolest hotels in the world because this is a place where we have to stay! #pinklovers
MINIMAL FANTASY is inspired by the works of Red Wall Bofill, where the architect creates a mysterious and infinite space with the perfect transformation between 2D and 3D, and with several elements that play with the optical illusion. The intention was to play with space, to dislocate the inhabitant so it would be like entering a kind of Wonderland, where the observer little by little will discover what is hidden behind each door and where, thanks to the continuous floors, furniture work, and arched steps.
The few pieces chosen are almost all designed by the studio itself.
The studio worked with what they call concept reality vs. fantasy to bring to the project a feeling of extravagance and evanescence to which we are not used to and yet we still love to experience for a few days when we travel. How cool is that?
The color palette of the place has in total up to 12 different shades of pink which makes the space serene and surreal. Among some of the reasons why they have chosen the color pink is, that it is the color of a whole generation, the brave ones who are not afraid of change. Another important factor is that Pink vindicates the fall of stereotypes.
Everything is possible, nothing is planned or established and that is the beauty of it, the fact that there are no rules, or rather that everyone has their own rules. This is the reason why pink is the color of the new generation that fights for their dreams and finds their ways as they go along but just by following their heart and intuition.
We are simply amazed and are longing to stay at this dreamy place and experience the stunning design.
