Bus Palladium Paris Reopened: Studio KO Reimagined a Legendary Address

A historic Paris club returned as a design-led hotel, blending

music, architecture and a new creative energy

Paris has welcomed back one of its most iconic cultural spaces. The legendary Bus Palladium has reopened, now reimagined as a five-star hotel designed by Studio KO.

Located at 6 rue Pierre Fontaine in the 9th arrondissement, the project transforms a historic nightlife institution into a hybrid space where hotel, restaurant and club coexist, connecting its past to a new chapter.

A Radical Architectural Transformation

Studio KO approaches the project as both restoration and reinvention. The façade is defined by a minimalist sandblasted finish, engraved with subtle geometric patterns that echo the building’s original language.

Below ground, the transformation reveals its full scale. Excavated 14 metres deep, the structure now unfolds across 12 levels, layering past and present into a single architectural narrative.

Inside, the design shifts into a cinematic language inspired by the 1960s and 70s. Raw concrete ceilings, cork walls and soft pink carpets contrast with bathrooms in bold tones like Klein blue. Details subtly reference the building’s musical heritage — from amplifier-inspired switches to door handles echoing microphone grilles — while each room is curated with objects and artworks that feel lived-in rather than staged.

A Living Space Between Hotel, Restaurant and Club

Today, Bus Palladium operates as a layered destination, with 35 rooms and suites, a restaurant, a bar and its revived club space hosting performances and nightlife.

In the restaurant, design continues the narrative: a kaleidoscopic carpet and a central glass cube enclosing greenery create a quiet contrast within the space.

The Sensory Experience

Artistic direction by Caroline de Maigret, former Model and Chanel ambassador, introduces a layer shaped by music, scent and style. Four curated playlists play through Ojas speakers in every room, moving from intimate and energetic moods to French classics — from Jacqueline Taïeb to La Femme — and into late-night jazz with Miles Davis and Alice Coltrane.

An amber-woody scent subtly defines the space, paired with amenities by Diptyque. Uniforms designed with Husbands complete the identity, where tailored silhouettes and deep red accents echo the hotel’s visual language.

A Cultural Landmark, Reimagined

Originally opened in 1965, Bus Palladium became a space where music, art and nightlife collided. Its return in 2026 repositions it once again as a cultural hub, but with a broader, more contemporary vision.

Rather than recreating the past, the project moves through it — translating its energy into a place where design, music and hospitality meet today.
