Louis Vuitton Artycapucines 2026: Keith Haring Takes Centre Stage
The eighth edition of Louis Vuitton's Artycapucines collection celebrates Keith Haring through 13 creations, bringing his unmistakable artistic language to the Maison's iconic handbag

Art and fashion have always had a rather interesting relationship, but some collaborations feel more natural than others. The latest chapter of Louis Vuitton's Artycapucines is one of them.
For its eighth edition, the French Maison turns to the world of American artist Keith Haring, whose bold lines, energetic figures and instantly recognisable symbols have become part of contemporary visual culture.
The result is a collection of 13 creations, each drawing inspiration from Haring's work and translating his graphic universe into the craftsmanship of the Capucines handbag.
When Art Meets Savoir-Faire
What makes this collection particularly interesting is the way Haring's seemingly simple drawings are reinterpreted through intricate techniques.
Leather marquetry, embroidery, hand-applied crystals and laser printing give new texture and dimension to his artwork. The contrast is fascinating: spontaneous, almost playful illustrations meet the precision of traditional luxury craftsmanship.
It's this unexpected combination that makes Artycapucines worth a closer look, whether you're interested in fashion, contemporary art or the space where the two meet.
From Takashi Murakami to Keith Haring
Since its launch in 2019, Artycapucines has invited contemporary artists to reinterpret the Capucines handbag, turning a familiar fashion accessory into something much more personal.
Over the years, artists including Urs Fischer, Daniel Buren, Tschabalala Self, Park Seo-Bo and Takashi Murakami have brought their own visual languages to the project. The previous edition was dedicated to Murakami, whose colourful characters and playful imagination transformed the collection into something wonderfully unexpected.
Now it's Keith Haring's turn. Emerging from New York's street-art scene in the 1980s, Haring developed a visual language that was accessible, energetic and deeply connected to the social and cultural conversations of his time.
His connection to Louis Vuitton also goes back decades. In the 1980s, the artist decorated a vintage Louis Vuitton suitcase, a piece that will feature in the Maison's latest exhibition.
Louis Vuitton at Art Basel Paris 2026
To mark the eighth edition of Artycapucines, Louis Vuitton is presenting a retrospective at Art Basel Paris, taking place from 23 to 25 October 2026 at the Grand Palais.
The exhibition brings together creations by 14 artists, displayed alongside their original artworks, offering a closer look at how each artistic vision has been translated into fashion.
The new Keith Haring collection will also be presented, ahead of its scheduled release on 1 January 2027, connecting his unmistakable graphic language with the craftsmanship of Louis Vuitton.
For us, that's where this project becomes particularly interesting. Beyond the handbags themselves, it's a chance to see how artists approach a familiar object and turn it into something entirely their own.
