Waffles, but make it design. The ever-playful Masquespacio studio has landed in Riyadh, unveiling Novu Waffle, a kaleidoscopic eatery where design and dessert go hand in hand.
With a visual language that’s as rich as the waffles themselves, the Spanish design duo has transformed this sweet spot into a multi-sensory space that’s impossible to ignore. Every square metre of Novu Waffle in Riyadh is infused with Masquespacio’s signature energy, bold colour clashes, unexpected forms, and a full embrace of immersive storytelling.
Design That Delivers
From the street, the façade gives it all away. A geometric, waffle-patterned exterior immediately sets the tone: this isn’t your average café. Step inside and you’re met with a striking brick-like seating island, designed to resemble oversized waffle squares. It’s sculptural, playful, and unmistakably on theme, right down to the matching tables, stools, and cushions.
Above, a yellow ceiling installation slices through the air, offering a sunny counterpoint to the dominant palette of electric blues. The contrast is graphic, punchy, and undeniably Masquespacio.
An Interactive Indulgence
To the right of the entrance, guests are led along a curated ordering path, part queue, part brand theatre, where punchy messages and eye-catching visuals elevate the experience. It’s not just about buying a waffle. It’s about stepping into the world of Novu.
“At Novu Waffle, we sought to create a space where fun is the main ingredient,” says Masquespacio. “The waffle shape has been our main source of inspiration, and we have integrated it into every detail of the design to offer a unique and engaging experience.”
