GUNIA Project Opened a New Space in Kyiv: A Dialogue Between Craft and Context
A historic Kyiv landmark reimagined uniting heritage,
Ukrainian craftsmanship, and contemporary design
—
GUNIA Project has opened a flagship store in Kyiv, marking a milestone for the brand that bridges Ukrainian heritage and modern design. The store is housed in a historic building that once served as the Embassy of the Republic of Panama, bringing new life to a space layered with cultural history.
Preserving History, Shaping Modernity
The interior design was led by Anastasiia Tempynska, founder of Temp Project Studio, with a guiding vision to preserve the building’s original character. From restored wooden ceilings to carefully retained wall panels, the design honours the historic framework while enhancing GUNIA’s distinctive aesthetic.
Acting as a cultural ambassador of Ukraine, the brand uses this new space to celebrate tradition while projecting a bold contemporary vision.
A Showcase of Ukrainian Design
Furniture within the store was crafted by local makers, including NOOM, WOO Furniture, and Cegla Studios. These pieces, inspired by classic and vintage Ukrainian interiors, celebrate artisanal craftsmanship and underline GUNIA’s commitment to supporting local production.
A Curated Universe of Craft
The store brings together all of GUNIA’s key categories ceramics, textiles, and jewellery, creating a holistic retail experience.
More than a shop, the space was conceived as a dialogue between architecture and objects, where every detail speaks the same language of craft, culture, and context.
