Lisbon Guide: Beach Bars

Beach Bars you definitely

shouldn’t miss on your Lisbon trip

Beach bars, we love them, you love them, everybody loves them. But sometimes it can be tricky to find the best ones…

That is why we took matter into our own hands and prepared a list for you of the best beach bar spots in Costa da Caparica.

Beware, everyone we know has fallen in love with them and we don’t want you to miss your opportunity to do so as well. So, as summer is fast approaching and times will get busier, we recommend you to make a reservation to any you plan on visiting.

Casa Reîa, Costa da Caparica

If you like a boho design atmosphere, uplifting music as well as flavourful, fresh and seasonal food, Casa Reîa is definitely the place to go.

  • Appease your mind in their beautiful interior with natural materials, imbued in earthy colours and muted tones;

  • Listen and enjoy live performers playing and interlacing acoustic instruments with electronic sounds;

  • Savoury dishes from a locally-rooted Atlantic cuisine drawing on Mediterranean influences and trust us when we say that their tuna tartare and fire roasted seafood rice are a must.

Posto da Onda, Costa da Caparica

Just 20 minutes outside of Lisbon you can enjoy this amazing beach bar. Posto da Onda is a place where nomads meet by the ocean to unwind, nestled on the beach of Costa da Caparica.

  • Fish lovers, enjoy the catch of the day on their open-fire grill, especially if it is fresh ceviche. If you feel like something else, try their tasty sautéed shrimps and platter of salty ocean oysters;

  • No matter the day, ecletic and catchy beats will be playing, so with your feet in the sand, dance and let the music take over;

  • Experience Lisbon’s surf culture by taking a surf lesson at the school right next to Posta da Onda.

IRMÃO, Costa da Caparica

Hidden between the dunes of Costa da Caparica, dive into the magical, colourful and gypsy-like atmosphere of IRMÃO, where the aesthetic is as vibrant as the people are friendly and the food is tasteful.

  • Whether with a tomato or parmigiano cream base, veggie or meaty, their pizzas are known to be the most delicious around town, their pistachio and burrata pizza is the best we have ever tasted;

  • Take a sip of their flavourful sangrias, juices and cocktails;

  • From a beach bar to a beach club, your warm summer weekends will be spent eating and partying at the different themed events planned at IRMÃO.

CASABLANCA, Costa da Caparica

Feel right at home at Casablanca, where the cozy atmosphere and the fresh food will make you stay all day.

  • Surrounded by the attractive white sandy dunes and the small vegetation, celebrate personal events like romantic dinners, family gatherings, or weddings there;

  • Casablanca’s speciality in grilled fish will make you love fish even more than you already do, their grilled seabass tastes like no other;

  • Serving everything from breakfast, going over to lunch, or dinner, spend the whole day on the beach and don’t worry about being too far from the fresh ocean water.

KAILUA, Costa da Caparica

Our last stop in Costa da Caparica would definitely be at KAILUA. With such a relaxing and friendly atmosphere, our minds will be free to unwind around some drinks and good food.

  • Dive into this idyllic environment with ambient lights, cosy cushions, tropical vibes and a fresh ocean breeze;

  • Indulge on a variety of delicious wordwide specialities: Portuguese, Italian, Mexican, American, Thai, nothing scares their chef Octávio Franco. Our favorite would definitely be their Rustic Burger (yum);

  • Taste drinks ranging from sweet smoothies, to beers, sangrias, or even cocktails (and mocktails too).

PISCINA, Fonte da Telha

Nestled at the base of the stunning Fonte da Telha cliffs, just a 30-minute drive from Lisbon, Piscina is a seaside paradise.

  • With a breathtaking ocean view, it's the perfect spot to relax, surf, and enjoy the beach with family and friends.

  • By the talented hands of Márcio Rodrigues, you can enjoy a variety of dishes for sharing, from traditional options to innovative appetizers. We recommend trying their tuna ceviche (€16) and salmon and avocado tartare (€17).

  • And for all the sushi lovers, you can create your own combos of nigiri, gunkan, sashimi, and uramaki using their fresh fish, which is beautifully displayed like a fish market.
