For those of you who keep up with us it’s not a surprise that we like to showcase brands that have concern for the environment as a founding pillar. Now, more than ever, it’s time to support local and sustainable projects, so we bring yet another label that has caught our attention for its ethical aspect, unique design and quality products: HAVU Cosmetics.

This Finnish brand sources inspiration from Finland’s natural landscape. Moved by the green woods, open fields, blue skies, lakes, and oceans, HAVU creates amazing products dressed up in minimalistic packagings that reflect so well everything we love about Nordic design.

Founded in 2017 by the two students Lumi Maunuvaara and Tatu Fontell, HAVU saw it’s first pilot lipsticks sell out in only one day! HAVU has established as their mission to nurture nature from the very start of the fabrication process until the recycling process of each product’s after-use. For believing that Natural Cosmetic is the future, HAVU also has as an objective to awake other beauty brands to invest on products and processes that are good for the planet and for the consumer.

Now let’s talk actual products! HAVU’s lip line is 100% biodegradable and uses only natural oils. All of the oils used by them have the Cosmos Organic certificate by Sheavoi Soil Association. Natural waxes and pigments commonly used in the manufacturing of natural cosmetics also compose their formulas.

HAVU has an established lipstick lines with eight different shades, and is constantly developing new ones, some of which are limited editions. The packagings are handmade out of alder and aspen, and the inner mechanism to slide the lipstick is made of PLA, making everything 100% biodegradable as we’ve mentioned previously.
