From May 22 to 25th, Lisbon will host the 5th edition of Lisbon by Design, set within the historic Palácio Gomes Freire. This exclusive fair has positioned itself as a platform for contemporary collectible design and craftsmanship made in Portugal.
This year’s edition brings together a thoughtfully selected group of 28 designers and artisans, offering visitors a rare opportunity to explore unique, often never-before-seen works in an intimate and immersive setting, all while honouring innovation, sustainability, modern creativity and Portuguese heritage.
Highlights of the fair
From wood to cork, glass to textiles, the 2025 edition reimagines traditional Portuguese craftsmanship through a contemporary lens. Highlights include an experimental exhibition on the art of sitting curated by Sam Baron with De La Espada, and a standout furniture collaboration between Burel Factory and Blackcork, led by Toni Grilo.
Sustainability also takes centre stage with talks, including one by rising talent Rosana Sousa, and the return of the Morgado do Quintão Sustainable Design Award, celebrating innovation in eco-conscious design.
And for the first time, the Palácio’s garden hosts an outdoor installation by OMARCITY World and Fabricaal, alongside innovative showcases from new-generation designers such as Lava Earth Objects, Superchi, and Paul Boucher.
Whether you're a designer, collector, or simply a design lover, Lisbon by Design 2025 promises to be an unforgettable celebration of Portugal’s creative soul and a window into its design future.
