Aimara studio: A Design-First Approach to Wellness & Longevity in Lisbon

A new design-led wellness studio in Lisbon,

where movement, recovery and architecture move as one

A New Vision for Wellbeing in Lisbon

Located in Estrela, Aimara Studio introduces an innovative way of thinking about wellness — one where design is not only decorative, but functional. Founded by Niccolò Bagarotto, a Lisbon-based entrepreneur drawn to creating spaces shaped by balance, presence and thoughtful design, Aimara reimagines how environment influences the body and mind.

Aimara project was born from a desire to counter the overstimulation and fragmentation of modern wellness culture. The idea was simple but radical: to create a space where the environment itself actively supports how people move, recover and reconnect, rather than overwhelm them.

Where Architecture Shapes Wellbeing

At Aimara, architecture is a wellness tool. Materials, colours, light and spatial flow are carefully calibrated to reduce sensory overload, slow the nervous system and support presence. Soft, earthy tones, natural textures and a fluid layout guide the body intuitively through the space, creating a sense of calm from the moment you enter.

Design here isn’t about visual impact alone — it’s about shaping behaviour, focus and long-term wellbeing through atmosphere.

Design as Practice, Not Ornament

The training room reflects this philosophy in a tangible way. Beautiful wooden training machines anchor the space, chosen for their warmth, tactility and timeless presence rather than high-tech aesthetics. Leather dumbbells, handcrafted in Portugal by a traditional shoemaker, introduce a subtle dialogue between movement, craft and local heritage.

Interior design was conceived by Niccolò himself, allowing the space to evolve from a deeply personal vision. Every object feels intentional, grounded and human — reinforcing the idea that training environments can be both functional and sensorial.

A Holistic Method for Modern Living

Here, movement and recovery flow together — from functional and barefoot training to moments of deep restoration in the sauna, hot tub and ice therapy areas. Quiet, intimate rooms invite pause and reflection, creating a natural rhythm between effort and rest.

Every detail supports this balance: circulation paths feel intuitive, materials are grounding rather than clinical, and the atmosphere encourages presence over performance.

Built around five core pillars — Movement, Recovery, Nourishment, Human Connection and Nature Immersion — Aimara offers a slower, more intentional model of wellbeing.

With limited memberships, the experience feels personal and considered, closer to a private retreat than a conventional fitness studio. A new standard of fitness has been set in Lisbon.
